One of the main reasons I started this blog was to get me writing regularly. The prospect of writing a novel or even finishing a short story was so daunting that for a long time, I wrote on and off without ever actually finishing anything. Having ideas wasn’t a problem but seeing a project through to the end was.

I think this was because I wasn’t writing regularly. While I may not be the most prolific blogger, I have published an average of once a month for the last two years. At the same time, I’ve started to write fiction again for the first time in years. This summer, I finished my first short story.

While the main focus of this blog will remain tango and travel, I decided that I also wanted a space to share my thoughts on my writing process. Over time, I will add posts on blogging, writing in general and what inspires me.

I’m starting this section at the end of October, just before I embark on doing NaNoWriMo for the second time. This time, I’ll be writing short stories instead of a novel (apparently this makes me a NaNoRebel) and there will be a tango theme! I’m planning to post a weekly update here on the blog and I’ll also be updating my daily progress here.

Check back here to see my weekly progress. I’ll let my subscribers know how it all went in the November newsletter. Wishing all NaNoWriMo participants a wordy November 🙂
