One of the main reasons I started this blog was to get me writing regularly. The prospect of writing a novel or even finishing a short story was so daunting that for a long time, I wrote on and off without ever actually finishing anything. Having ideas wasn’t a problem but seeing a project through to the end was.
I think this was because I wasn’t writing regularly. While I may not be the most prolific blogger, I have published an average of once a month for the last two years. At the same time, I’ve started to write fiction again for the first time in years. Last summer, I finished my first short story.
While the main focus of this blog will remain tango and travel, I decided that I also wanted a space to share my thoughts on my writing process. Over time, I will add posts on blogging, writing in general and what inspires me.
I started this section of the blog at the end of October 2017, just before embarking on doing NaNoWriMo for the second time. This time, I was writing short stories instead of a novel (apparently this makes me a NaNoRebel).
You can read about why I participated in this challenge here, how my first week went here, how I felt towards the end of week four here and how my NaNo adventure ended here.
You can find out about the state of play of my current fiction project, Stories inspired by Tango here .
